Music

Psalm 150:6

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord!

Why is music important?

Music is important in worship at EBB because music is important to God. How do we know that? We know because music plays an important role throughout the Bible. From Genesis through Revelation, God uses musicians to do His work. Music in the Bible is used to call people to worship and to send them to war; to soothe ragged emotions and to ignite spiritual passion; to celebrate victories and to mourn loses. The word “sing” is found over 400 times in the Bible.

What is the purpose of the music ministry?

The purpose of the music ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song and to lead the congregation in worship.

Who participates in the music ministry?

Our ministry consists of our music staff, the Heart and Soul Singers and periodic guest soloists from the congregation or community. Those participating in the music ministry have a variety of musical backgrounds and skills. It is a great privilege to serve the Lord by using our musical talents. Not everyone reads music. Not everyone is a soloist. Very few members have formal musical training. Whatever we do within the music ministry, we strive to do it with excellence, offered to God as an act of worship.

What kind of music is used in worship?

Our Sunday morning worship sets consist of a wide variety of music styles including hymns (both traditional and modern), praise and worship as well as contemporary Christian music.

What are the requirements to participate in the music ministry?

No auditions are required. If God has gifted you with musical talent, we have place for you whether that be singing, playing an instrument or working with technology.

Wednesday night rehearsal is the backbone for accomplishing the excellence we desire as well as individual practice and Sunday morning rehearsals. We meet at 5 pm every Wednesday. If you are interested in joining us, simply show up at rehearsal or call the church office.

Psalm 49:1

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; tell of His salvation…
